A student who dreams of one day becoming a spacecraft designer and another who aspires to work with robotics were 澳门王中王鈥檚 two highest 2021 ATAR achievers.
Academic captain Timothy Prochon received 澳门王中王鈥檚 top score with a 98.55, closely followed by Emma Robertson (98.3). Both students have gained early entry into studying engineering at Queensland University of Technology with Emma winning a QUT Excellence Scholarship (Academic).
Timothy, who has been interested in rocket and spacecraft design since he was four years old, plans to study mechanical engineering.
The former 澳门王中王 academic scholarship holder, who has seven siblings, identified several reasons for his success.
鈥淥ur 澳门王中王 teachers made excellent power points which helped with our study,鈥欌�� Timothy said. 鈥溾�淚 was fortunate to have fantastic teachers for every subject.鈥欌��
Emma also praised 澳门王中王鈥檚 鈥減assionate鈥欌�� teachers for helping her to engage with her subjects as she plans to study mechatronics to pursue her interest in robotic engineering. She achieved a 48 out of 50 in two subjects in the ATAR external exams 鈥� Physics and Mathematical Methods.
鈥湴拿磐踔型� has helped me to achieve my potential in all areas including academically and extra-curricular, especially being in such a supportive environment,鈥欌�� she said. 鈥淚鈥檓 fascinated with robotics because it鈥檚 the intersection with hardware and software as well as incorporating coding.鈥欌��
Not only did Emma excel academically but she was also a member of 澳门王中王鈥檚 award-winning Chorale and hockey teams, while she raised more than $4000 by shaving her hair for the Leukemia Foundation鈥檚 Shave For A Cure event in 2021.
